Help Using ManitobaX

ManitobaX has been developed in Manitoba as a tool to allow Manitobans such as yourself an easy-to-use medium to buy and sell your used items. Following is a brief explanation of how to use the various site features.

Posting an ad

To post a free ad, click on the "post an ad" link above. You will be taken to a page where you will then have to select the category that most closely matches the item you are selling. Once you have selected a category, you will be asked to provide basic information for your ad such as a title, description and price. You may optionally ad photos as a way to draw extra attention (highly recommended). Please be sure to indicate your community as well so that others close to you can find your item.

Once you have submitted your ad, you will be sent a confirmation link by e-mail in a matter of minutes. Once you receive this e-mail, click on the link provided to confirm your ad. After a quick review by ManitobaX staff, your ad will be made viewable province-wide for 31 days. Should your item not sell after 31 days, you are invited to re-submit until it is sold.

How Much does it cost?

Selling using this service is 100% free. The only exception being business-related ads in the "services" category and homes for sale, which require a modest payment by Paypal/Credit card. This is to ensure that this site stays as a tool for the average Manitoban, all the while giving serious businesses the opportunity to promote to our ever-growing userbase.

Browsing Ads

Browsing the many items for sale on this site is simple. Just pick a category and scroll through the available items. You can either view ads province-wide, or search for ones close to your community (within an approx 45 minute radius). To search for ads nearby, simply click on the small arrow in the top-right corner of any page within this site next to the words "showing ads for." Once you make this selection, any page you visit now or in the future will only display your local results.
