Haida Ho Silver a six year old mare who has been in training for approximately 6 weeks with us.
From a trainers view point Haida Ho Silver is a magnificent mare. She was taken on the 24th of July to a ten mile competitive Trail ride in the Spruce Wood provincial park together with four friends on horse back. She passed the pre-ride vet check before she was allowed to go. She has a naturally fast walk. The other horses had to trot to keep up with her! Nice trot and canter also. Very comfortable From start to beginning she never once had to be spurred on! At the end of the ride she passed the vet check with flying colours. Before the ride her pulse rate was 44 and directly after completing the ride her pulse was 48 beats per minute.
Haida Ho Silver neck reins, she reacts to leg pressure, side passes, backs up under saddle and from the ground, she slows when the reins are pulled in, leads well, easy to trailer, good with her legs and hooves & her WHOA is impressive. As you can tell in one of her pictures she has no problems going through water.
In the time she has been here she has never bucked . She is very quiet amongst other horses. During trail riding other horses does not bother her one bit. Traffic like cars and farm equipment does not bother her either. She grew up on a cattle farm and it shows, she is not one bit scared of dogs and cattle.
She is not recommend her for a beginner rider, solely for the simple reason that she is so eager to please and to move when asked to move forward that it might scare a beginner rider. Also when getting scared beginner riders are prone to tighten there legs and it will give a confusing message to her when the reigns are pulled in and she is squeezed on simultaneously.
Come and have a look or even for a ride in the round pen or on the trail or both please feel free to contact me and while she is with me for training it can easily be arranged.
